Please Help Millie D’Cruz to Fight M.L.D
Millie D’Cruz Parsley was diagnosed with Juvenile MLD in the summer of 2010. This is a complex degenerative condition transmitted through the genes, and does not always manifest itself until the effects are obvious. Since diagnosis, the family and medical consultants have searched for possible treatments, whilst Millie’s condition has continued to worsen.
Thanks to a large donation from Millies Fund, we have been able to set up 'MLD Foundation UK' to support other families affected by this debilitating condition, and to help fund research into Therapeutic Treatments via the European Consortium of Clinicians and Research Scientists working with 'Brains4Brain'. We're in the early stages as yet, but soon hope to become a registered charity. Contact bobs@MLDfoundation.org.uk for further information.
Your donations are welcome, and can be either donated direct, or via cheque:
What is Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD)?
Metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) is a genetic disorder caused by a deficiency of the enzyme arylsulfatase A. It is one of a group of genetic disorders called the leukodystrophies that affects growth of the myelin sheath, the fatty covering - which acts as an insulator - on nerve fibres in the brain.
Please visit MLD foundation for further information on this disease. Thank you for visiting this site and thank you for your kind donation.
